When do I need an arborist report?
An arborist report provides an expert’s assessment of the safety, condition and life expectancy of a tree or a group of trees. Arborist reports are used for different purposes. The details in the report will vary depending on the purpose of the report.
You can use an arborist report simply for information. For example, you may want a professional assessment of the trees on your property so you know what tree maintenance is needed. An arborist report will identify any problems with the health of a tree. It will identify if it has any diseases or is damaged.
An arborist report can also be used for legal purposes. For example, if you need to obtain a permit to remove a tree. They are often required if someone is planning to carry out building work near trees. Property managers may need a professional assessment of the safety and structural integrity of the the trees on the property for insurance purposes, or to ensure health and safety.
An arborist’s report will give you a properly qualified assessment of your trees and make recommendations so you understand action you need to take.
Arborist Reports for Diseased Trees
If you are concerned that you have a diseased tree, we will carry out an in-depth assessment of the health of the tree. We will also judge the likelihood that part or all a tree will fail causing damage and/ or injury.
Unfortunately there are a number of tree diseases in Ontario that can damage or kill your trees. Emerald Ash Borer is causing a lot of damage across the Greater Toronto Area. A professional arborist is qualified to spot the signs of this and other diseases early in their development. If we judge that a tree is not safe or needs remedial action our arborist report will make recommendations about how to make it safe.
